I remember when I was in the north of Sweden and saw the northern lights. I remember being impressed but thinking they were a little tame. They were nothing like the northern lights display that happened last week as a massive solar storm bombarded the north pole.
Since 1994, I've been watching the Swedes. Not in a creepy, obsessive way, but like an adventurer in unknown territory who carefully observes his surroundings.
I run a training company with my American business partner in Stockholm. We hold seminars and workshops in Cultural Awareness and Communication.

I remember a number of years back, when we could see the Northern Lights all the way down to Gothenburg (well, we were maybe 45km north of Gothenburg, on the same sort of latitude as Aberdeen). I was maybe 12 or so, and just saw a bit of green haze in the sky and wasn't very impressed. Nothing like on the video above! Nottingham was probably too far south for this, and either way, it was overcast. 😦
